Travel Advisor Spotlight: Vanessa Kromer

Welcome to our Travel Advisor Spotlight series, where we shine a light on the incredible professionals who we have worked with through the years across the TravelSMG events!  Today, we're thrilled to introduce you to Vanessa Kromer of Magical Moments Vacations.

What got you into the Travel Industry and how long have you been an Advisor?

Travel has always been my passion; I’ve been exploring the world both personally and professionally for decades. What began as helping family and friends design their dream trips quickly grew into a career built on curating luxury travel experiences. I’ve now been a Travel Advisor for over 15 years, specializing in hand-crafted, boutique, and luxury journeys where every detail matters.

What made you first realize the value that a Travel Advisor brings to a consumer’s travel experience?

Early in my career, I realized that travelers are often overwhelmed by too many options online. What they truly need is someone who can take the guesswork out of planning, personalize every detail, and be their advocate from start to finish. Seeing the difference in a client’s experience when I added my expertise—whether it was arranging a private driver in Italy or securing a hidden-gem hotel suite—made me fully understand the unique value we bring.

What does being a Travel Advisor mean to you?

Being a Travel Advisor means being a curator of memories. It’s not just about booking trips—it’s about designing experiences that transform the way people see the world. To me, it also means trust: clients rely on me with their dreams, time, and investment, and I take that responsibility seriously by delivering white-glove, luxury service every time.

What’s your favorite type of trip to plan for a client?

I love creating bespoke European itineraries—multi-city journeys that combine culture, history, food, and luxury accommodations. Trips like Italy’s Amalfi Coast paired with Florence, or a Greek island-hopping escape, are my absolute favorite because they allow me to weave in special touches that make clients feel like insiders rather than tourists.

Where is your favorite place to travel?

Italy will always have my heart. From the energy of Rome to the charm of Tuscany and the elegance of the Amalfi Coast, every visit feels both familiar and brand new. It’s a destination where I can blend culture, cuisine, and luxury in a way that speaks to who I am both personally and professionally.

Who is your favorite Travel Supplier to work with?

I love working with luxury suppliers that understand the importance of detail, such as Avanti, Europe Express, and boutique DMCs. I also enjoy partnering with small ship and luxury river cruise lines, where the level of personalization and service mirrors my own. Their commitment to excellence and the trusted relationships I’ve built over the years allow me to deliver truly exceptional experiences for my clients.

What’s some advice that you would give to your fellow Advisors to keep them motivated when they get frustrated by their day-to-day?

Remember your “why.” We aren’t just booking trips; we’re shaping lifelong memories for people. When the details feel overwhelming, pause and think about the client who will smile when they step into that hotel lobby or see that view for the first time. Lean into community as well—connecting with other advisors for encouragement makes all the difference.
